Museo Schulz

Deseo que todos tuvieron unas vacaciones muy divertidas. Para esta semana la lista de ortografía consiste en palabras con los diptongos /ia/, /io/, /ua/. Para la última parte del año escolar los niños escribirán párrafos que expresan una opinión. La hoja de Súper Lector va a cambiar, quiero que los niños escriban una opinión sobre su libro, dos razones por su opinión y una recomendación. Para matemáticas seguimos estudiando pingüinos para aprender sobre dobles, sumas y restas. En ciencia comenzamos a estudiar las propiedades de la luz. El miércoles vamos al Museo Schulz. El jueves los niños trabajaran en el jardín. Martes después del almuerzo los maestros de primer grado tendrán suplentes. El viernes en la tarde tendré un suplente por un corto tiempo. I hope everyone had a very enjoyable vacation. For this week the spelling list consists of words with the diphthongs /ia/,/io/,/ua/. For the last part of the school year the children will write paragraphs that express an opinion. The Súper Lector sheet is going to change, I want the children to write an opinion about their book, two reasons for their opinion and a recommendation. For math we continue to study penguins to learn about doubles, addition and subtraction. In science we began to study the properties of light. On Wednesday, we are going to the Schulz Museum. On Thursday the children will work in the garden. Tuesday after lunch the first grade teachers will have substitutes. On Friday afternoon I will have a substitute for a short period of time. Semana de conferencias

Esta semana nuestra tema de lectura y escritura sigue siendo   Pingüinos. No habrá una lista de ortografía esta semana. El miércoles o el jueves los niños tendrán un examen de escritura. Los niños escribieran un párrafo informativo sobre el pingüino emperador.  El martes mandaremos el permiso para el próximo paseo escolar al Museo Schulz programado para el 27 de marzo. Desafortunadamente no vamos a poder reprogramar el paseo al parque Helen Putnum. El viernes tenemos una asamblea. Esta semana es la semana de conferencias. Durante la semana la despedida de la escuela será a la 1:30 de la tarde. Para los que recibieron la calificación de su hijo por favor de firmar y devolver el sobre.  La próxima semana el 18 de marzo hasta el 22 de marzo estamos de vacaciones no habrá clases.

This week our Spanish language theme continues to be penguins. We will not have a spelling list this week. On Wednesday or Thursday the children will have a writing test. The children will write an informative paragraph about the emperor penguin. On Tuesday we will send home the permission slip for the next field trip on March 27 to the Schulz Museum. Unfortunately we are unavailable to reschedule the field trip to Helen Putnum Park. We'll have an assembly on Friday. This week is conference week. During conference week the school dismissal time will be at 1:30 in the afternoon. For those of you who received your child’s report card please sign and return the report card envelope. The week of March 18 to March 22 we are on vacation there will be no school.

Esta semana nuestra tema de lectura y escritura sigue siendo   Pingüinos. La lista de ortografía consiste en palabras con la combinación de un vocal seguido por /L/ o /S/. Durante el tiempo de calendario nos enfocamos en decir la hora. El martes tenemos programado un paseo escolar. Desafortunadamente, debido a la alta probabilidad de lluvia posiblemente tendremos que cancelar el paseo. Los maestros de primer grado harán la decisión lunes por la mañana. El miércoles tendremos una asamblea con el autor y ilustrador Peter Reynolds. El jueves los niños van a trabajar en el jardín. El viernes a las 9:15 tendremos una asamblea. Después de la asamblea voy a tener un suplente para el resto del día. La semana del 11 de marzo hasta el 15 de marzo es el tiempo de conferencias. Durante esta semana la despedida de la escuela será a la 1:30pm de la tarde. Las conferencias de primavera son a la solicitud de los maestros. Para familias quien no recibieron solicitudes, las conferencias son opcionales. Si recibieron una solicitud de mi parte para una conferencia por favor de devolverlo lo más pronto posible. Para las familias quien han pedido una conferencia voy enviaré el horario el miércoles. A las familias a quien no les pedí conferencia recibirán las calificaciones en la carpeta del viernes. Por favor de firmar y devolver el sobre de la calificación. Las otras familias recibirán las calificaciones durante nuestra conferencia. This week our Spanish language theme continues to be penguins. The spelling list consists of words with the combination of a vowel followed by /L/ or /S/. During calendar time we will focus on telling time. On Tuesday we have a school field trip scheduled. Unfortunately, due to the high probability of rain we may have to cancel the field trip. First grade teachers will make the decision Monday morning. On Wednesday we will have an assembly with author and illustrator Peter Reynolds. On Thursday the children are going to work in the garden. We'll have an assembly on Friday at 9:15. After the assembly I will have a substitute for the remainder of the day. The week of March 11th through March 15th is the conference week. During this week the school dismissal time will be at 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon. Spring conferences are at the request of the teachers. For families who did not receive a request, conferences are optional. If you received a request from me, for a conference, please return it as soon as possible. For the families who have asked for a conference I will send the schedule home on Wednesday. The families I didn't ask for a conference will receive report cards in the Friday folder. Please sign and return the report card envelope. The other families will receive report cards during our conference. One more thing, this week we will welcome a new student.
