Pingüinos

Esta semana, en preparación para el examen de escritura, vamos a comenzar a estudiar sobre pingüinos. Antes de las vacaciones de primavera los niños van a escribir un párrafo informativo sobre pingüinos emperador. Además esta semana vamos escribir sobre abejas. La lista de ortografía consiste en palabras con la combinación de /fl/ o /fr/ seguido por un vocal. El martes los niños van a tener un examen de geometría y fracciones. Comenzando el miércoles integraremos pingüinos en el estudio de matemáticas. El jueves voy a estar en la escuela pero voy a tener un suplente. Voy administrar pruebas de lectura a estudiantes individualmente. Como el sábado 2 de marzo es los cumpleaños de Dr. Seuss vamos a tener el día de Dr. Seuss el viernes. Si no han devuelto el formulario de permiso para el paseo escolar al parque Helen Putnum, por favor devuélvelo lo más pronto posible. Si el tiempo lo permite el paseo será el martes 5 de marzo, desde las 9:00 A.M. hasta las 1:00 P.M. El martes voy a mandar solicitudes de conferencias. La semana del 11 de marzo hasta el 15 de marzo es el tiempo de conferencias. Durante esta semana la despedida de la escuela será a la 1:30 pm de la tarde. Las conferencias de primavera son a la solicitud de los maestros. Para familias quien no reciben solicitudes, las conferencias son opcionales. This week in preparation for the writing exam, we are going to start studying about penguins. Before spring break the children will write an informative paragraph about emperor penguins. In addition, this week we're going to write about bees. The spelling list for this week consists of words with the combinations of either /fl/ or /fr/ followed by a vowel. Tuesday the children are going to have an exam on geometry and fractions. Beginning on Wednesday we will integrate penguins in the study of mathematics. On Thursday I am going to be at school but I am going to have a substitute. I am going to administer reading tests to students individually. As Saturday, the 2nd of March, is the birthday of Dr. Seuss we are going to have Dr. Seuss day on Friday. Weather permitting the field trip will be on Tuesday, March 5, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The week of March 11 to March 15 has been set aside for conferences. During conference week the school dismissal time will be at 1:30 in the afternoon. Spring conferences are by teacher request. For families who do not receive a request, conferences are optional. Ayudar la comunidad

Esta semana el tema de lectura es ayudar la comunidad. La lista de ortografía consiste en palabras con la combinación de /cl/ o /cr/ seguido por un vocal. Para matemáticas los niños van a seguir estudiando geometría. Además van a comenzar a estudiar fracciones. El jueves es nuestro día de trabajar en el jardín. El martes enviaré el formulario de permiso para el paseo escolar al parque Helen Putnum. El paseo será el martes 5 de marzo, desde las 9:00 A.M. hasta las 1:00 P.M. Durante el paseo los niños aprenderán sobre el tiempo. No hay un límite de ayudantes para el paseo. Ayudantes deben tener en cuenta que el paseo es al aire libre y es necesario  caminar senderos. No hay suficiente espacio en el autobús para todos los ayudantes, va ser necesario que algunos manejen al parque. Es buen idea compartir carros como el estacionamiento es limitado, también cuesta $7.00 por auto. No hay costo para aquellos que tienen un pase anual a los parques del condado de Sonoma. No estamos pidiendo una donación para el paseo, pero es necesario devolver el permiso para el paseo. La mañana del jueves los maestros de primer grado van a tener suplentes. This week the Spanish language arts theme is helping the community The spelling list this week consists of words with the combinations of either /cl/ or /cr/ followed by a vowel. For math, the children will continue to study geometry. Plus, they will start to learn about fractions. Thursday is our day to work in the garden. On Tuesday I will send home the permission slips for the field trip to Helen Putnum Park. The field trip will be on Tuesday March 5 from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. During the field trip the children will learn about the weather. For this trip we don’t have a limit on the number of chaperones. Chaperones should keep in mind we will be outdoors and walking on trails. There is  insufficient space for all the chaperones on the bus, thus it will be necessary for some chaperones to drive. Carpooling is highly encouraged as parking is limited and there is a $7.00 per car parking fee. Parking is free with those who have an annual pass from Sonoma County Parks. For this trip we are not requesting a donation, but it is necessary to return the permission slip. On Thursday morning the first grade teachers will have substitutes. San Valentín

Esta semana la lista de ortografía consiste en palabras con la combinación de /bl/ o /br/ seguido por un vocal. Para matemáticas los niños van a seguir estudiando geometría. El miércoles los niños tienen una prueba. Durante calendario/Rincón de números los niños están estudiando el concepto de congruente. La fecha para el paseo escolar a Pt. Reyes se cambio al jueves 25 de abril. El próximo paseo escolar será el martes 5 de marzo al parque Helen Putnum. Enviaré los formularios de permiso pronto. Tendré detalles sobre el paseo el próximo semana. El jueves en la tarde habrá una celebración para el día de San Valentín. No se olviden no hay clases lunes 18 de febrero. They will have a math quiz on Wednesday. The students are learning about congruency during calendar/Number Corner. The date of the field trip to Pt. Ryes has changed to Thursday April 25. Para matemáticas los niños van a seguir estudiando geometría. El jueves es nuestro día de trabajar en el jardín. En febrero vamos a leer historias de Afro Latino Americanos. Durante la semana por tiempos cortos voy a tener un suplente. El lunes y martes los maestros de primer grado van tener la oportunidad de observar el uno al otro presentar lecciones.
