Primavera

Espero que todos hayan tenido unas vacaciones  de primavera relajantes.

Esta semana el tema para lectura y escritura  es ¿Qué tiempo hace?. La lista de ortografía consiste en palabras con combinaciones de consientes /dr/, /tr/ o /tl/ seguido por un vocal. En matemáticas vamos estudiar sumar con dos digitales y usando decenas. En ciencia seguimos estudiando luz y sonido. Par escritura el enfoque para el trimestre será escribir una opinión.  El miércoles es nuestro día de ir a la biblioteca y en la tarde visitamos nuestros amigos de lectura. El jueves en la tarde vamos a trabajar en el jardín. El viernes durante el recreo del almuerzo es el Club de Correr. Mirando adelante al trimestre final el paseo escolar a Point Reyes será el viernes 20 de abril. El último paseo escolar será al Museo de los Niños del condado de Sonoma el martes 29 de mayo.  El concierto de primavera de grados 1 a 3 será la noche de martes 22 de mayo. I hope everyone had a relaxing spring break.  This week the language arts theme is How is the weather?  The spelling list consist of words with consonant blends /dr/, /tr/ or /tl/ followed by a vowel.  In math we will study double digit addition and using place value in addition. In science we continue to study light and sound. For writing the focus this trimester will be on opinion writing. Wednesday is our library day and at the end of the day we will visit our reading buddies. On Thursday afternoon we will work in the garden. Friday during lunch recess is Running Club. Looking ahead to the final trimester Friday April 20 is the field trip to Point Reyes. The final field trip is Tuesday May 29 to the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County.  Spring concert for grades 1-3 is Tuesday May 22, the following night May 23 is Open House. Semana de conferencias

Recuerden que esta semana, 12 de marzo hasta el 16 de marzo es la semana de conferencias. Durante la semana de conferencias la despedida de los alumnos será a las 1:30 P.M.  También la siguiente semana será el periodo de vacaciones de primavera, no hay clases. Esta semana el tema para lectura y escritura  es ¿Qué hacen los científicos?. La lista de ortografía consiste en palabras con combinaciones de vocales /ue/, /ui/ o /ie/. Esta semana en matemáticas terminamos de estudiar pingüinos para practicar sumar y restar. Los niños tendrán un examen de matemáticas el jueves.  Gracias a todos quien ayudaron con el paseo escolar al parque Helen Putnam. Habrán dos paseos escolares adicionales más tarde en la primavera. Ya que los alumnos de quinto grado están en un paseo escolar a Sacramento no visitaremos nuestros amigos de lectura ni la biblioteca esta semana. Remember this week, March 12 to March 16, is conference week. During conference week students are dismissed at 1:30 P.M. Also, next week is spring break, school will not be in session. Parque Helen Putnam

Esta semana el tema para lectura y escritura sigue siendo reciclar. La lista de ortografía consiste en palabras con diptongos /ia/, /io/ o /ua/. Esta semana en matemáticas los alumnos continuar a estudiar pingüinos para practicar sumar y restar. Los niños tendrán una prueba en matemáticas el miércoles. El jueves los alumnos tendrán un examen sobre escritura informativa.  El martes es el paseo escolar a parque Helen Putnam. El pronostico del tiempo es para un día parcialmente nublado sin lluvia. Sin embargo los senderos van estar enlodados y las temperaturas serán frescas. Por favor de vestir los niños apropiados. En la carpeta del viernes, si no les solicite una conferencia, encontraran la calificación de su hijo. Las conferencias son por solicitud del maestro, para aquellos de ustedes a quien yo no solicito una conferencia contigo, encontraran un formulario para solicitar una conferencia. Si usted recibió una solicitud para una conferencia por favor devuelva la solicitud con sus horarios preferidos para que pueda empezar a programar conferencias. Para los padres que soliciten una conferencia les informaré sobre los horarias disponibles el miércoles. This week the language arts theme is recycling. The spelling list consist of words with diphthongs /ia/, /io/ or /ua/. In math we will continue to study penguins to practice addition and subtraction. The students will have a math quiz on Wednesday. Thursday the students will have their test on informative writing. Tuesday is the field trip to Helen Putnam Park. The forecast for Tuesday is for no rain, but I expect the trails to be muddy with cool temperatures. Please dress the children appropriately. I still need some permission slips. Wednesday is library day Weather permitting. Friday is Running Club. Upcoming in this week’s Friday Folder, if I did not request a conference you will find your child’s report card. For those of you I requested a conference you will receive your child’s report card at the conference.  If you received a request for a conference please return the request with your preferred times so I may start to schedule conferences. For parents requesting a conference I will let you know about available time slots on Wednesday.
