We made it to the last week of the school year. On Tuesday
we are going to walk to the Petaluma Library, I’m still missing some permission
slips. On Thursday at 2 p.m. we are going to have our garden party. Friday is field day with many activities for the children. We will also find the time
for reading, writing, mathematics and science. On Friday the children go home at
11:50 A.M.

Fin de año
Llegamos
a la última semana de año escolar. El martes vamos a caminar a la biblioteca de
Petaluma, faltan algunos formularios de permiso. El jueves a las 2:00 P.M.
vamos a tener nuestra fiesta de jardín. El viernes es el día de campo con
muchas actividades para los niños. También vamos a buscar el tiempo para leer,
escribir, matemáticas y ciencia. El viernes despedimos los niños a las 11:50 A.M.

Don Quijote y Mayas
Esta semana vamos escribir sobre un cómic de Peanuts
y vamos aprender sobre Don Quijote. La
palabras de ortografía son palabras con /z/ o /s/. En matemáticas vamos a
terminar de estudiar el valor de las monedas. Al fin de la semana vamos estudiar el sistema
de matemáticas de los Maya. En ciencia, seguimos
estudiando plantas, vamos prepara un proyecto de clase sobre búhos para la
feria de ciencia. El jueves durante el
recreo del almuerzo es el Club de Correr. También el jueves a las 2:00 P.M. los niños van a trabajar en el jardín. Aunque
siempre faltan unos formularios de permiso para el paseo escolar del 23 de
marzo, voy a mandar el lunes el formulario de permiso para el paseo a la
biblioteca de Petaluma. Caminaremos por el sendero de bicicleta hasta la
biblioteca con nuestros amigos de lectura. Necesitamos acompañantes, salimos de
la escuela a las 8:45 el martes el 30 de mayo. Regresaremos antes del almuerzo. Antes de entra a la biblioteca vamos a comer una merienda en el parque
a lado de la biblioteca. En vez que los niños llevan un mochila me gustaría
tener un voluntario que maneje con las meriendas. El jueves en la mañana los niños de primer
grado van a cantar una canción en la asamblea escolar. La Noche de Casa abierta será el jueves a las
6:00 P.M. los niños no cantaran para el concierto. Esta semana es la última

This week we are going to write in response to a Peanuts comic strip. We will also learn about Don Quijote. The spelling list consists of words with /z/ or /s/. In mathematics we will finish studying the place value of coins. Towards the end of the week we will begin to study Mayan Math. In science we continue to study plants and we will prepare a class project about owls for the science fair. Thursday during lunch recess is Running Club. Also on Thursday at 2:00 P.M., the children will work in the garden. Although we still have some missing field trip permission slips for the March 23rd field trip, on Monday I will send out the permission slip for the walking trip with our reading buddies to the Petaluma Library. The trip will be on Tuesday May 30 we will leave at 8:45 and we will need chaperones. We will return before lunch. We will walk along the bike path to the library, before entering we will have a snack at the park next to the library. Instead of the children carrying their packs I’m hoping for a volunteer to drive over the snacks. Thursday morning the first grade class will sing at the school assembly. Open house is at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, the children will not preform at the Open House concert. This is the final week of homework and Súper Lector. Cebollas y Ajo
Muchísimas gracias por todos los regalos, tarjetas,
flores durante la pasada semana. Esta semana La tema de lectura es Un día
especial. La palabras de ortografía
son palabras con vocal seguido por /b/ o
/ns/. En matemáticas vamos comenzar estudiar
el valor de monedas. En ciencia, seguimos
estudiando plantas, vamos a comenzar a estudiar búhos y prepara terrarios. El martes tengo un suplente desde las 1:30
hasta las 2:45. Con el suplente los niños va a empezar a ver la película Metgol
, un película de niños argentina. La primera parte será con el acento
argentino. La segunda parte será doblada en Español Latino sin subtítulos. Quiero que los niños escuchen diferente
acentos del español. También voy a tener un suplente el jueves y viernes.
La razón por tener tantos suplentes es que tengo dar las pruebas de lectura
para los niños de primer grado y planificar par las clases del próximo año. El jueves durante el
recreo del almuerzo es Club de Correr. También el jueves a las 2:00 P.M. los niños van a cosechar cebollas y ajo del jardín.
Por favor de devolver formulario para el
paseo escolar del 23 de marzo. Solamente podemos tener cinco ayudantes. Si
tenemos mas de cinco padres interesados ir a la excursión daré la prioridad a

With the substitute the children will start to see the film Metgol , an Argentinian animated children’s movie. The first part will be with the Argentinian accent. The second part will be a version dubbed in Latin American Spanish, without subtitles. I want the children to listen to different language accents from Spanish speaking countries. I am also going to have a substitute on Thursday and Friday. The reason I having so many subs is so that I can administer reading test to all the children in first grade and plan for next year’s classes. Thursday during lunch recess is Running Club.
