Si me ven

Esta semana vamos a tener la temporada de fiestas como el tema de lectura y escritura es. No vamos a tener una prueba de ortografía esta semana. El miércoles los niños tendrán una prueba de matemáticas. Los niños cantarán en el concierto de invierno el 17 de diciembre a las 6:00 p.m. El concierto será en el Centro Comunitario Petaluma. Por favor lleven los niños directamente al centro comunitario a más tardar las 5:45 P.M. Los niños de primero van a cantar primero de los otros grados. Por favor no sombreros de Santa o elfo, ya que cubren las caras de los alumnos de pie detrás. El jueves voy a tener un suplente. El viernes es día de pijamas, tendremos una celebración, la despedida el viernes es a las 11:50 A.M. Después de las vacaciones las clases reanudarán el miércoles 8 de enero 2020. 

This week the holiday season is going to be the Spanish language arts theme. We will not have a spelling list and test this week. In math the children will have a quiz on Wednesday. The children will perform at the winter concert on December 17 at 6:00 P.M. The concert will be at the Petaluma Community Center. Please take the children directly to the community center, no later than 5:45 P.M. The first grade students will be the first class to perform. Please no Santa or elf hats as they cover the faces of students standing behind. On Thursday I will have a substitute. Friday is pajama day, we will have a class party. School is out at 11:50 A.M. on Friday. After the winter break school will resume on Wednesday January 8, 2020.

Las Posadas

Esta semana el tema de lectura y escritura es ¡A crecer! Esta semana los niños van a tener una prueba de escritura, escribirán una narración personal sobre cualquier paseo escolar que han ido en Loma Vista.  . La lista de ortografía consta de palabras con la letra /H/. Para las matemáticas el énfasis esta semana estará en contar por 5 y 10, hacia adelante y hacia atrás a 120. El jueves es nuestro último día de jardín para el año calendario. El viernes asistiremos a un concierto en el Luther Burbank Center. Este es un evento con boletos que está agotado. Es importante llegar a tiempo el viernes ya que nos iremos lo antes posible. Cada aula tiene un solo boleto para un acompañante adulto. El miércoles tendré una lotería para determinar el acompañante. Los niños cantarán en el concierto de invierno el 17 de diciembre a las 6:00 p.m. El concierto será en el Centro Comunitario Petaluma. This week the Spanish language arts theme is Watch it grow. The children will have a writing test, they will write a personal narrative about any field trip they have gone on while at Loma Vista. The spelling list consists of words with the letter /H/. For math the emphasis this week will be on counting by 5 and 10, forward and backwards to 120. Thursday is our last garden day for the calendar year. Friday we will attend a performance at the Luther Burbank Center. This is a ticketed event that is sold out. It is important to arrive on time on Friday since we will leave as soon as possible. Each classroom has only one ticket for an adult chaperone. Diciembre

Espero que todos tuvieran unas agradables vacaciones de Acción de Gracias. Para comenzar el mes de diciembre, el tema de lectura y escritura es Todo sobre el tiempo. Esta semana los niños escribirán una narración personal sobre su descanso de acción de gracias. La lista de ortografía consta de palabras con la letra /R/. Para las matemáticas, los estudiantes comenzarán a usar rectas numéricas para ordenar números hasta 120, resolver problemas de palabras y contar por 2, 5 y 10 hacia adelante y atrás. Si el tiempo lo permite, tendremos una excursión el viernes. Envié un permiso a casa en la carpeta del viernes. Reenviaré uno a casa en la carpeta de la tarea del lunes. El  paseo escolar al parque Helen Putnam es un paseo en que los alumnos caminarán en senderos, los niños necesitarán una mochila para llevar sus almuerzos y agua. El viernes enviaré el permiso para el paseo del 13 de diciembre. Los niños han comenzado a ensayar para el concierto la noche del 17 de diciembre en el Centro Comunitario de Petaluma. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving vacation. To start off December, the theme for Spanish language arts is All About Time. This week the children will write a personal narrative about their Thanksgiving break. The spelling list consists of words with the letter /R/. For math the students will start to use number lines to order numbers up to 120, solve word problems and count by 2, 5, and 10 forward and backwards. Weather permitting we will have a field trip on Friday. I sent a permission slip home in the Friday folder. I will resend one home in Monday’s homework folder. The field trip to Helen Putnam Park is a hiking trip, the children will need a backpack to carry their lunches and water. On Friday I will send home a permission slip for the field trip on December 13th. The children have begun rehearsing for the concert on the night of December 17 at the Petaluma Community Center.
