La última semana del trimestre

Esta semana es la última del trimestre.  El tema de lectura es el reciclaje, por favor necesitamos para una obra de art tubos de papel higiénico. Necitos a los menos 23 para el jueves. Para matemáticas seguimos estudiando sumar hasta 20. También me gustaría tener cartones vacios de huevos para comenzar a planta rábanos. Pronto vamos a comenzar trabajado en el jardín. Donaciones de semillas rábanos, plantas de tomates serian agradecidos. Además necesitamos herramientas para el jardín especialmente palas de mano. El jueves vamos a ir al salón de ciencia. El viernes es el último día de entregar el formulario de intención de regresar a Loma Vista. En la carpeta encuentran el horario de conferencias, esta vez las conferencias no son mandatarias. This is the last week of the trimester. The theme for language arts this week is recycling. The spelling words focus on diphthongs with ia, io, ua. We need 23 toilet paper rolls by Thursday so that we can do an art project with recycled material. During math we will continue to study addition up to 20. I also would appreciate having empty egg cartons that we can use as plant starters. In addition to the egg cartons we can use donations of radish seeds, tomato plants and gardening tools, especially hand spades. Hopefully we will soon be working on our classroom garden plot!  Thursday we will visit the science lab. A reminder that the intent to return form is due by Friday please let me know if you need another copy. Nota de la semana/Weekly note

¡Tenemos mucho para hacer en los cuatro días de la semana! El tema de lectura es equipos de animales, vamos a tener nuestra prueba de escribir el jueves. Los niños van a llevar una bolsa a la casa por favor de devolver la bosa un objeto para describir. Quiero que los niños regresen con su objeto el miércoles, y dejar el objeto en la escuela hasta después de la prueba que será el jueves. Por favor no manden un objeto valioso a la escuela. También el jueves tenemos un examen en matemáticas sobre comparar y ordenar números hasta 100. El viernes comenzamos a estudiar sumas hasta 20. Voy a comenzar a devolver los exámenes en las carpetas de tarea en vez del sobre del viernes, así ustedes sabrán los resultados más pronto. Siempre voy a mandar la tarea completada en el sobre de viernes. Deseamos comenzar un jardín, tenemos dos voluntarios, pero podríamos usar más. Si usted está interesado, comuníquese conmigo. In the four days we have this week, we have a lot to do! The theme for language arts this week is animals working as a team. The spelling words focus on syllables with combination of a vowel with either /L/ or /S/. On Thursday we have our district writing test. This week the children are taking an empty bag home, please return this bag with an object, so that the children may write a description of the object. I want the children to return with the object on Wednesday, we will go over descriptive vocabulary that day and the children will write their descriptions on Thursday. The object remains at school until we are done with the test on Thursday. Please do not send anything valuable to school.  Also, on Thursday we have a math test on comparing and ordering numbers to 100. On Friday we start to study addition to 20.  I am going to start sending graded test in the homework folder, so that you may have the results sooner. I will still send the completed homework in the Friday envelopes. We hope to start a garden, we have two volunteers, but we could use more. Please contact me if you are interested. Many Languages, One America: The Voices of Our Children

Just a brief note for this week, our first science lab is Thursday afternoon.  Thursday morning is “Jump Rope for Heart”.  For the Wednesday assembly the class will be singing the jump rope songs, please feel free to join us at 1:30. Cien días

Hoy cumplimos 100 días de estar en la escuela este año. Para celebrar los 100 días de estar en la escuela los niños prepararon diferentes proyectos usando 100 objetos. 

We completed our hundredth day of being in school this year to celebrate the hundred day of school the children prepared different project using 100 objects. 

Nota para la primera semana de febrero

Esta semana en el salón 15 nuestro tema para artes del lenguaje es cómo trabajar juntos para ayudar a nuestra comunidad. Las palabras de ortografía y vocabulario se centran en la mezcla de /cl/ y /cr/ con las vocales. También practicaremos describiendo objetos, la prueba del distrito de escritura será en dos semanas. Para el examen de escritura se pedirá a los estudiantes a escribir una descripción de un objeto. Por favor ayude a su hijo a prepararse para el examen pidiéndoles que te describan objetos. El titulo principal de nuestro libro de texto Tesoros es sobre César Chávez. Durante estudios sociales estudiaremos más en profundidad César Chavez y la lucha de los campesinos en California. El examen de matemáticas en agrupar números por decenas y unidades es el martes. La unidad siguiente es comparar y ordenar números hasta 100. Hablando de 100 el lunes es el centésimo día de escuela. Algunos estudiantes traerán 100 artículos para compartir con la clase. Por la tarde el lunes después de la clase de inglés a las, 1:15, los estudiantes tendrán tiempo para crear proyectos de 100 artículos. Si por casualidad llegan temprano para recoger a su hijo no dude en pasar por la oficina y venir por el salón  para ayudar. Me imagino que tal vez necesitemos ayuda para limpiar. Los libros de la biblioteca pueden permanecer en casa hasta el miércoles. Quiero que los niños traigan su libro Súper Lector cada día. This week in room 15 our theme for language arts is how we work together to help our community. The spelling words and vocabulary words focus on the blending of /cl/ and /cr/ with vowels. We will also practice describing objects, the district writing test will be in two weeks.  For the writing test the students will be asked to write a description of an object.  Please help your child prepare for the test by asking them to describe objects. Our featured reading from the Tesoros text book is on César Chavez. During social studies we will study more in depth César Chavez and the United Farm Workers.  The Math test on grouping numbers by 10’s and 1’s is on Tuesday. The next unit is comparing and ordering numbers to 100. Speaking of 100 Monday is the 100^th day of school.  Some students will be bringing 100 items to share with the class. In the afternoon on Monday after English time, 1:15, the students will have time to create 100 item projects. If you happen to arrive early to pick up your child feel free to check in the office and come by the room to help. I imagine we might need help cleaning up.
