Feliz Año Nuevo

¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Deseo ver a todos el miércoles. Ya que es una semana muy corta no habrá lista de ortografía o súper lector. Esta semana vamos a estudiar los océanos y los continentes. En matemáticas viajaremos a la Antártida y estudiaremos pingüinos. Los estudiantes harán cintas de medir para conseguir el ajuste apropiado para sus trajes de nieve. También reunirán información sobre pingüinos y compararán su altura con diferentes especies de pingüinos. La información en la unidad de matemáticas se usará más tarde en el trimestre cuando los estudiantes escriban acerca de los pingüinos para la prueba de escritura del distrito. El primer día de clases el miércoles es también nuestro día de la biblioteca, por favor recuérdele a su niño que devuelva sus libros de la biblioteca el miércoles. Para el resto del trimestre y el tercer trimestre los estudiantes tendrán estudios de Ciencias y estudios sociales con la maestra Grimaldo. Para la ciencia la siguiente unidad de estudio sera la luz y el sonido. El próximo lunes es un día feriado en honor al Dr. Martin Luther King, la escuela no estará en sesión.

Happy New Year! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday. Since it is a very short week there will be no spelling list or Súper Lector. This week we will study the oceans and the continents. In math we will travel to Antarctica and study penguins. The students will make measuring tapes to get the proper fit for their snowsuits. They will also gather information about penguins and compare their height to different species of penguins. The information in the math unit will be used later in the trimester when the students write about penguins for the district writing test. The first day of classes Wednesday is also our library day, please remind your child to return their library books on Wednesday. For the remainder of the trimester and the third trimester the students will have science and social studies with Ms. Grimaldo. For science the next unit of study is light and sound. Next Monday is a holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, school will not be in session.
