La Gran Montaña

Para esta semana el tema de lectura es trabajar en equipo. Vamos a leer el cuento La Gran Montaña. También nos vamos a prepara para la prueba de escribir que será martes 24 de febrero. Para matemáticas vamos a estudiar compara y ordenar números hasta 100. Seguimos con el desafío de operaciones básicas de matemáticas del Superintendente. Vamos a continuar con el desafío para seis semanas, cada semana entrego al distrito la lista de alumnos quienes han demostrado fluidez. También apunto los resultados de cada niño para que yo pueda ver si ellos están progresando. En mi opinión lo significante del desafío es que los niños demuestren progreso en aprender las operaciones básicas. Para los alumnos que han demostrado fluidez deseo que sigan manteniendo fluidez durante las seis semanas.  No entiendo lo pedagógico significancia del límite de tiempo y número de sumas, en la época de computadoras lo que pienso es de mayor importancia es el entendimiento y aplicación de las operaciones básicas.  Aquí está el enlace para las palabras de ortografía en quizlet, http://quizlet.com/_ljolq.

For this week the theme in language arts is teamwork.  We are going to be reading the story La Gran Montaña. In addition we will prepare for the district writing test which will be Tuesday February 24. For math we will study comparing and ordering numbers up to 100. We will also continue for the next six weeks the Superintendent’s math facts challenge.  Every Friday I report the number of students who have demonstrated fluency to the district and I keep a record of all the student’s scores so that I can see if they are making progress.  In my opinion the significance of the challenge is to see if the students have made progress in knowing the math facts. For those you have already demonstrated fluency I hope they will continue to maintain fluency throughout the six weeks. I don’t understand the pedagogical significance of the time and number of problems associated with the challenge, in the age of computers I feel it is of greater importance that students understand and know how to apply the math facts.  Here is the link to the quizlet spelling list http://quizlet.com/_ljolq.
