Comenzar con Arte/Start with Art

La primera cosa que vamos hacer esta semana es terminar la obra de arte que comenzamos el viernes. El martes por la primera vez vamos a trabajar con el nuevo maestro de arte y jardinería. También el martes los niños van tener una evaluación de restar hasta 20. El próximo tema de matemáticas es practicar operaciones de suma y resta. El miércoles voy a tener un suplente.  Viernes es nuestro día de ir a la biblioteca y al salón de ciencia. No se olviden de devolver el formulario de permiso para nuestra excursión al parque Point Reyes para 17 de abril de 8:45 hasta las 2:20.  Los niños van necesitar llevar un almuerzo si quieren que la cafeterita les preparen un almuerzo de bolsa por favor dime antes del 10 de abril.   Aquí está el enlace para las palabras de ortografía en quizlet, http://quizlet.com/_nm720 .


The first thing we are going to do this week is finish the art project we started on Friday. On Tuesday for the first time we are going to be working with the new art and garden teacher. Also on Tuesday we  have a test on subtraction to 20. The next subject for math is practicing subtraction and addition. On Wednesday I will have a substitute. Friday we visit the library and go to the science lab. Don’t forget to return the permission slip for the field trip to Pt. Reyes on April 17, from 8:45 to 2:20 P.M. ¡Vamos A Pt. Reyes!/ We are going to Pt. Reyes

Deseo que todos disfrutaron de las vacaciones. Esta semana el tema de lectura es el universo. Para matemáticas vamos estudiar restas. El martes vamos a trabajar en el jardín, vamos cosechar rábanos  y  plantar maíz. El viernes voy a mandar el formulario de permiso para nuestra excursión al parque Pt. Reyes para 17 de abril de 8:45 hasta las 2:00.  Gracias al PTA no vamos a pedir una donación, pero si es necesario devolver el formulario. Sin permiso de los padres no pueden participar los alumnos. Vamos a necesitar ayudantes, en los años pasados se llena el autobús, en caso que se llene pedimos a unos padres que sigan el autobús en sus carros. Hasta prefieren unos padres manejar porque como el camino tiene muchas curvas se marean en el autobús. I hope everyone enjoyed their vacation. This week our theme for language arts is the universe. For math we will be studying subtraction. We will work in the garden on Tuesday harvesting radishes and planting corn.  Friday I’m sending home the permission slip for the Pt. Reyes field trip on April 17 from 8:45 to 2:00 P.M. Thanks to the PTA we will not be asking for a donation for this trip, but it is necessary to return the permission slip. Without parental permission a student cannot participate in the field trip. We will need chaperones, in years past if the bus fills up we ask for parent volunteers to follow the bus in their cars. Some parents even prefer to drive their cars, since the road is windy and they get motion sickness on the bus. The children will need to bring a lunch, if you wish the cafeteria prepare a sack lunch for your child, please let me know by April 10.

Semana antes de las vacaciones/ Week before break

Regresamos al horario normal, la semana que sigue no hay escuela,( 23 de marzo a 27 de marzo). El tema de lectura es ¿Qué tiempo hace? En matemáticas terminamos de estudiar sumas hasta 20. Los niños presentan una prueba el jueves. El viernes comenzamos a estudiar restas hasta 20. El jueves también es el último desafío del Superintendente. Todos los niños han llegado a la meta a lo menos una vez, unos varias veces, incluyendo el desafío del desafío. El martes tenemos una asamblea especial de música de los Maya. Esta semana vamos a ir a la biblioteca el jueves. We are back to the normal schedule this week, next week school is out, (March 23 to March 27). The theme for language arts is, “how is the weather?”  For math we will finish studying addition up to 20. The students will have a test on Thursday.  Also on Thursday we will have the final Superintendent's Challenge. Every student has reached the goal at least once, some have reached the goal on several occasions including the Super Challenge.  On Tuesday we have a special assembly on music of the Maya.
