Diciembre

Espero que todos tuvieran unas agradables vacaciones de Acción de Gracias. Para comenzar el mes de diciembre, el tema de lectura y escritura es Todo sobre el tiempo. Esta semana los niños escribirán una narración personal sobre su descanso de acción de gracias. La lista de ortografía consta de palabras con la letra /R/. Para las matemáticas, los estudiantes comenzarán a usar rectas numéricas para ordenar números hasta 120, resolver problemas de palabras y contar por 2, 5 y 10 hacia adelante y atrás. Si el tiempo lo permite, tendremos una excursión el viernes. Envié un permiso a casa en la carpeta del viernes. Reenviaré uno a casa en la carpeta de la tarea del lunes. El  paseo escolar al parque Helen Putnam es un paseo en que los alumnos caminarán en senderos, los niños necesitarán una mochila para llevar sus almuerzos y agua. El viernes enviaré el permiso para el paseo del 13 de diciembre. Los niños han comenzado a ensayar para el concierto la noche del 17 de diciembre en el Centro Comunitario de Petaluma. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving vacation. To start off December, the theme for Spanish language arts is All About Time. This week the children will write a personal narrative about their Thanksgiving break. The spelling list consists of words with the letter /R/. For math the students will start to use number lines to order numbers up to 120, solve word problems and count by 2, 5, and 10 forward and backwards. Weather permitting we will have a field trip on Friday. I sent a permission slip home in the Friday folder. I will resend one home in Monday’s homework folder. The field trip to Helen Putnam Park is a hiking trip, the children will need a backpack to carry their lunches and water. On Friday I will send home a permission slip for the field trip on December 13th. The children have begun rehearsing for the concert on the night of December 17 at the Petaluma Community Center. Conferencias 2

Toda la semana es semana de conferencia. El lunes, martes, jueves, y viernes la despedida escolar es a las 1:30, el miércoles a las 1:45. El tema para lectura es Hagamos una mapa. Esta semana los niños escribirán una narrativa personal sobre el paseo escolar al museo infantil. El martes es el paseo escolar los niños necesitan traer un almuerzo. Las palabras de ortografía son palabras con la letra /F/. El jueves los niños tendrán un examen de matemáticas. También el jueves es nuestro día de jardín. Por favor de devolver el sobre de la calificación con su firma. También pueden traer el sobre con ustedes a la conferencia. No es necesario devolver la calificación solamente el sobre. Los niños han comenzado a ensayar para el concierto la noche del 17 de diciembre en el Centro Comunitario de Petaluma. Recuerden no hay clases la siguiente semana. The entire week is conference week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday the school is out at 1:30, Wednesday at 1:45. The theme for Spanish language arts is Let's make a map. This week the children will write a personal narrative about the school field trip to the children's museum. Tuesday is the school field trip the children need to bring a lunch. The spelling list consists of words with the letter /F/. On Thursday, the kids will take a math examination. Also Thursday is our garden day. Please sign and return the report card envelope. You can also bring the envelope with you to the conference. It is not necessary to return the report card only the envelope. The children have begun rehearsing for the concert on the night of December 17 at the Petaluma Community Center. Next week is Thanksgiving break there is no school. El jueves los niños tendrán una prueba de matemáticas que cubre restar y formar ecuaciones de 10. Las calificaciones serán enviadas a los hogares el miércoles. Por favor de devolver el sobre de la calificación con su firma. También pueden traer el sobre con ustedes a la conferencia. De Regreso

Espero que todos estén listos para volver a la escuela. El tema y la lista de ortografía siguen siendo los mismos de la semana anterior. Esta semana los niños escribirán una narrativa personal sobre su semana. El miércoles la escuela tendrá un desfile de Halloween, los niños pueden venir disfrazados si gustan. El jueves trabajarán en el jardín. Esperamos reprogramar el paseo escolar para el 19 de noviembre. Una vez que podamos confirmar que hay un autobús disponible, los maestros de primer grado reenviarán los formularios de permiso. En la carpeta de tareas para el lunes, encontrará un formulario de solicitud de conferencia. Cuanto antes devuelva el formulario de solicitud, más probable será que reciba su fecha y hora preferidas. Las conferencias comienzan el 14 de noviembre hasta el 22 de noviembre. Durante las conferencias la despedida escolar será a la 1:30 p.m. excepto el miércoles 20 de noviembre cuando la despedida será a la 1:45. Hope everyone is ready to come back to school. The theme and spelling list remains the same from the prior week. This week the children will write a personal narrative about their week. On Wednesday a make up Halloween padre will occur the children may wear their costumes if they desire. On Thursday they will work in the garden. We are hoping to reschedule the field trip for November 19. Once we are able to confirm a bus is available, the first grade teachers will resend permission slips. In the homework folder for Monday, you will find a conference request form. The sooner you return the request form, the more likely you will receive your preferred date and time. Conferences start on November 14 till November 22. During conferences school will be out at 1:30 P.M. except for Wednesday November 20 when school is out at 1:45.
