La Vaca de Oaxaca

En las pocas semanas que nos quedan para lectura vamos estudiar cuentos de hadas. Para ortografía vamos a  repasar palabras de uso frecuente. En matemáticas seguimos estudiando sumas de dos dígitos y decenas y vamos a comenzar a estudiar restas. Gracias a todos quien devolvieron los formularios de intento de regresar. Nuestro salón fue el primero en entregar todos los formularios y ganamos una fiesta de helado. No tengo una fecha para la fiesta. Este viernes es nuestra última visita a la biblioteca, por favor de entregar todos libros o discos. También el viernes la escuela se acaba a las 11:50 A.M. y el lunes el 25 de mayo no hay clase. In the few weeks that remain for language arts we will study fairy tales and review high frequency words for spelling. In math we continue to study double digit addition and addition by tens. This week we will start to study subtraction of double digits. Thanks to everyone who sent back the intent to return forms, we were the first class to return them and we won an ice cream party. I do not have a date yet for the party. This week is our last visit to the library, please be sure to return all books and CD’s.  Also on Friday school is out at 11:50 A.M. and no school on Monday May 25. Pronto a segundo grado/ Soon to 2nd grade

Gracias por todas las cosas bonitas durante la semana de agradecimiento a los maestros. Sino han devuelto los formularios de permiso para las excursiones por favor mándalos a la escuela lo más pronto posible.  También no se olviden de regresar el formulario de intención a regresar a la escuela el próximo año.  Pronto voy a sentarme con la maestras Fernández, Springer y Rodríguez para prepara la lista clase para el segundo grado. Esta lista es una sugerencia al Director y no se finaliza hasta agosto. Una cosa que tomamos en cuenta son los deseos de los padres. No es la única cosa que tomamos en cuenta, otros factores son balance de niños a niñas, nivel académico, idioma natal, comportamiento  y la disposición del alumno. El próximo año la Maestra Springer va tener una combinación de segundo/tercer grado y la Maestra Rodríguez va tener un salón de segundo grado. Thank you for all the nice things during teacher appreciation week.  If you have not returned the permission slips for the field trips please do so as soon as possible. Also please send back the intent to return for next year form. Shortly I will be sitting down with Ms Fernández, Springer and Rodríguez to prepare the class list for next year. The list is a suggestion for the Principal who makes the final decision in August. One factor we take into account is parent preference. It is not the only factor; we also take into account boy/girl balance, native language, academic level, behavior, and the child’s temperament. For next year Ms. Springer will have a 2^nd/3^rd comb and Ms Rodriquez a straight 3^rd grade. Té para las madres/ Mother's Tea

Esta semana voy a mandar a las casas dos formularios de perimisio par dos excursiones el primero el 12 de mayo a una granja y el segundo a la escuela Sonoma Mountain para escuchar un autor. El miércoles termínanos de estudiar medición con una prueba. El último tema de año en matemáticas será sumar con unidades y decenas. Los niños van a presentar una prueba de lectura del distrito. Las siguiente 3 semanas no vamos ir al salón de computadoras porque los niños en los grados 3 -6 necesitan el salón para presentar el examen estatal.  Invitamos a todas las mamás que vengan al té en honor a las madres el jueves a las 2:00 P.M.  El viernes vamos a despedir a los niños a las 11:50 A.M.  Aquí está el enlace para las palabras de ortografía en quizlet, https://quizlet.com/_p4q23. 


This week I am going to be sending two field trip permission slips home one for a visit to a farm on May 12. The second permission slip is to visit Sonoma Mountain School on May 13 to hear an author.   On Wednesday we finish studying measuring we will have a test. Our last math theme is going to be addition of ones and tens. The children will have a district reading test this week. For the next 3 weeks we will not be going to the computer lab so that upper graders may do state mandated testing.  We invite all moms to come to the Mothers tea on Thursday at 2:00 P.M.  Friday school is out at 11:50 A.M.
